The Mystery
Where I grew up
People talked of love
Out beyond all this flesh and blood
There’s a place where the true love grows
Outside this hopeless world
I could not help but
to feel deprived
But secretly kept my hopes alive
For the day I could open wide
And find you at my door
Do you believe in
destiny
Just try and tell me what you see
Do you wonder at the mystery
When I look at you
And you look at me
When we met
There was something true
About this face from right out of the blue
A certain look that I recognized
I must have seen before
It held my eyes as
she talked me
And in a while she began to see
We could dispense with these pleasantries
That began so long ago
Do you believe in
destiny
Just try and tell me what you see
Do you wonder at the mystery
When I look at you
And you look at me
When we’re out I see
the smiles upon their faces
Seems like everybody knows
They look at us with their silent fascination
Like we’ve been someplace where they all want to go
Do you believe in destiny
Just try and tell me what you see
Do you wonder at the mystery
When I look at you
And you look at me
