Struck By
Lightning
As I stood upon that
cliff
With my toes out in the air
I felt the wind blowing at my back
I couldn’t say what brought me there
I could hear the siren call my name
From somewhere down below
It was telling me
Boy it’s time to go
Then I was struck by
lightning
And she didn’t make a sound
I was caught up in a whirlwind
I was a long way down
I was walking on a tightrope
Before I fell to the ground
I was struck by lightning
And she didn’t make a sound
Ever since I was five years old
It has always been the same
I’ve Searched the world for a fantasy
That I could not give a name
The cold obsession I
devised
Somewhere in my youth
It stuck right in between
Me and the truth
Then I was struck by
lightning
And she didn’t make a sound
I was caught up in a whirlwind
I was a long way down
I was walking on a tightrope
Before I fell to the ground
I was struck by lightning
And she didn’t make a sound
She said nobody loves you
The way that I do
And nobody cares the way I care
And if you don’t love me
I’ll walk away from you
But know that if I do
I won’t be there ... anymore … for you
So I took the noose
from around my neck
And I slowly backed away
And I thanked the Lord for saving me
On that judgment day
I found what I was searching for
I guess I always knew her name
And it still scares me when I think
Of how close I came
Then I was struck by lightning
And she didn’t make a sound
I was caught up in a whirlwind
I was a long way down
I was walking on a tightrope
Before I fell to the ground
I was struck by lightning
